Our beautiful northwestern Pennsylvania backdrop wouldn’t be complete without our lakes, rivers and streams. They don’t just shape our landscape — they shape us! With so many opportunities to enjoy our lovely environment, you can learn why our waterways play such a big role in the Crawford County story.
Not to brag too much, but some of our waterways are known for impressive reasons we just have to share. French Creek is known as the most biologically diverse river in Pennsylvania, making it an excellent location to spot for birds and wildlife as well as kayaking and canoeing. Not too far away is Conneaut Lake, the largest natural lake in the state! A glacier left behind this amazing body of water for us to enjoy, with opportunities for boating, jet-skiing, beachside sunbathing and more. And, last but not least, the Pymatuning Reservoir is located in the largest state park in Pennsylvania known by the same name.
While these ones are more renowned for their special status, there are so many more waterways in our region to discover. But, don’t just take our word for it. Come see them for yourself!
